Monocle Radio

From Print to Radio, Retail  to Collaborated Products, Brûlé and Crew keeps pushing…

“On 28 December The Monocle Weekly signs on with a mix of smart discussion, previews, field reports and feature interviews. From our studio in London and our bureaux in Tokyo and New York, Monocle’s editors will focus on the horizon and explore the looming stories within the five areas that define our editorial agenda: global affairs, business, culture, design and consumer culture.

Hosted by editor in chief Tyler Brûlé, The Monocle Weekly will also offer fresh angles on stories in the current issue and deliver in-depth follow-ups from past assignments. Culture editor Robert Bound will be a regular with his weekly playlist of artists established and obscure.

Editor Andrew Tuck will be pulling in contributions from our correspondents in far flung corners and moderating debates. And from Tokyo and New York editors Fiona Wilson and Ann Marie Gardner will deliver features and perspectives from Asia and the Americas.”

Project Song

I am a huge fan of the National Public Radio. I listen to it twice a day and have been a member for the last 10 years. NPR is in an exciting place planning for the next phase of their web presence. They’ve just recruited Vivian Schiller as the next Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Schiller is currently Senior Vice President and General Manager of NYTimes.com. Good stuff.

Anyhow, I thought I’d share one of my favorite NPR programs, All Songs Considered.

All Songs Considered is the place to discover music. The acclaimed weekly program – available as streaming audio, a podcast and a broadcast – melds contemporary music, live concerts, videos and artist interviews to offer a truly eclectic music mix.

Every week, host Bob Boilen and producer Robin Hilton listen to hundreds of new albums to find the artists or songs worth getting excited about, whether it’s the latest Swedish pop band, a hip hop artist going ambient, or a singer-songwriter with a twisted new take on love.”

Chamois Shirt

The other day I was at the second hand store buying my daughter some jeans. 3T Wranglers for $2.50. That’s the good shit. On my way out, I saw this beauty on the end cap. L.L. Bean Chamois shirt in navy, size medium, $8.00. What a sleeper. Scooped it and haven’t taken it off since… except to wear one of my FSC shirts.
