Genericmanifesto
So, I’ve been completely out of putting post up. I was in Milan and then went straight to Korea just getting back last night. Korea was excellent as we are getting samples ready for SS10 as well as our fall production. We also now have new girl managing the Generic Brand at the factory. We are really excited to have MJ on board the Generic Team handling development and production directly at the factory.
Now back in LA our focus is on getting our pop-up store ‘genericmanifesto’ that opens June 6th at Space 1520. We are having a lot of specially made objects by LA designers produced for the store. As well, we will have the largest collection of Generic Man and Generic Surplus available in one place. In addition there will be an extensive showing of Generic Man for women styles which have never been shown before. The space itself will have specifically designed lamps, wine openers, ceramics, plants, bird houses, a vintage cherried out Cinque Cento gun metal grey with red and white interior flown in from Sicily, vintage dutch furniture plus many many other things. We are trying to figure out the best way to present all of the creations and objects on-line for all to view so look for more to come.
Some of the designers involved are: Kelly Lamb, Atelier, Commonwealth Future, Joanna Bean, Retro Superfuture, Amsterdam Modern, Arkitip, DFA and a ceramic collaboration with Gainey Ceramics.
We do want to invite everyone to come out to the opening party as well as the after party with DFA. Hope to you there.
