So last week my wife and I went down to Cabo for a few days. Not necessarily our first choice but it’s always nice to get away for a few day. We did come across an amazing Italian wine bar / restaurant called DOC Cucina. The wine, the people and especially the food was amazing. Run by Italians the food is top notch. If anyone goes to Cabo you must check this place out.

Jeff posted a couple of snap shots of the Spring Coming Soon collection on Selectism yesterday and didn’t mention that it was a collaboration between Generic Surplus and Coming Soon. We spoke and I thought no big deal except I have received several e-mails regarding the similarity of the Coming Soon collection to Generic Surplus. People thought they might have ripped us off which is not the case. We did do a small collaboration with CS for men and women which will be in stores in January. We spent the weekend meeting with one of the owners of CS and are looking forward to working more in depth with them on the Fall 10 footwear collection. We’re enjoying this project.

Here’s a small random sneak peak.

The Generic Man has finally found its way to London. Over the past 2 years we have made many attempts to get something going in the UK but in the end have always fallen short. It’s a bit sad because London has such a big influence on us in so many ways and was the city Kevin jetted from Milan during the designing of the very first collection to run around the city with Greg Chapman and find inspiration. Many influences from that trip are still found in the Generic collections. Also, we receive tons of e-mails from people in the UK asking when and where they can find The Generic Man and we always have to tell them to go to Paris or Milan. Thankfully those days have past. You can now find The Generic Man at Dover Street Market. Which is great because it’s our favorite store in London. So all you London blokes head on down to check some TGM at DSM.

The launch party weekend was probably the funnest thing I’ve been to in a very very long time. Kind of Spring break for adults [I mean that in the best possible way] Thanks to everyone who came out and made it the weekend it was.

So we’re here in Palm Springs launching the Ace shoe. It was packed yesterday so we ended up setting up the sound system by the pool and Damon, Kevin and Andrew spun all day. Then we had a huge dinner for Andrew’s birthday and then rocked the Amigo room all night. Today will be more of the same. Really fun times!

Massimo and Selva are the two most beautiful people in the world as well as having the most natural style ever. We call them our ‘Angels in Milan’ and it is their house where I stay at when i’m in Milan. They always have my white bed ready when I arrive and the silver key chain so I can come and go as I please. Massimo is in publishing [Rodeo & Boiler] and Selva an amazing photographer, I have spent many mornings at their breakfast table and in Selva’s office watching South Park discussing them doing a photo magazine project. It’s so wonderful to see it finally arrive.
