As a means of bringing our collective creative pursuits into an experiential environment, Arkitip and Incase have partnered to open Project Space, a unique setting for exhibitions, performances and installations.

Along with original artwork, Project Space will support a limited range of curated products that will rotate based on availability. This will include all special project endeavors from each brand. Project Space stays true to Arkitip’s founding principles: supporting the arts, promoting freedom of expression and making art affordable and accessible.

We are proud to announce our first exhibition at Project Space with Parra.

32-year-old Dutch illustrator and designer Parra has decorated the Amsterdam underground with his playful, bizarre graphics that span a broad base of themes, from introspective to audacious and bawdy. The mostly self-taught artist seems to channel a vintage form with curves, yet with a decidedly modern, post-pop approach. His vibrant and often humorous images feature a distinctive, hand-drawn feel, and can be seen printed on various exhibitions around the globe—club flyers, record sleeves and billboards—as well as silk screened on tees and sweaters.

Parra’s characteristic style has also extended into his music career with electro-rock group Le Le. Their most popular track “Breakfast” features Parra’s typography and imagery set in motion to the song’s pulsating beats and comical (and slightly naughty) lyrics.

Paris and London

27 March 2010, 18.36 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

Good to be back home in LA after the trip. Paris and London were great. We spent Sunday in Paris going through the vintage market in the Clignancourt area then just chilled and drank wine. It was the only full day of relaxing on the whole trip. Monday we met Greg Chapman at the station and went to a great meeting. Then took the evening train to london. It was delayed so we entertained the bar cabin with the Logoland short and episodes of South Park. Some people were seriously into it. In London we met with Michael Koppelman and Dover Street Market then went to the pubs for some pints. Woke up the next morning 5:30 am and caught the flight home. This trip was amazing and I would like to thank everyone we met and worked with and we are looking forward to all the projects coming up.

A few days in Copenhagen

20 March 2010, 21.38 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Just arrived to the Hotel Amour in Paris after 2 1/2 days in Copenhagen. The hype around the city of Copenhagen is well deserved. The city, the people and the lifestyle is amazing. Met with our Generic Surplus Distributor California Sport and had a great meeting. They also do the brand Norse Projects as well which was nice to check out. Our sales rep Pelle and his statuesque girlfriend took us out for a night on the town. Then we met up with Wood Wood and they took us to an excellent museum party 20 minutes outside the city called Louisiana. We had a great time. I want to thank everyone we met and took us around the city we really had a very good time. Now onto Paris.

7 Flights : 6 Days

17 March 2010, 10.08 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

8:00am and I just arrived in Copenhagen. Spent 30 hours in Florence meeting with Giovanni at ASAP Agency and hanging out with my friend Claire. Then flew back to Dusseldorf to meet with the our new German Distributor. I’m actually quite excited about them, they’re good people. Was up until midnight drinking beer with them and had a 4:30am wake up call so I’m insanely tired right now. Time to take an Ambien and try to get some sleep. While in Florence I did popped a few photos off but nothing too exciting.

Just arrived in Dusseldorf, staying the night then off to Florence. Walked around a bit then had the luck in trying to stay awake I found a place showing the F1 qualifiers that could make a good accidental. I was able to stay awake until the planned 10 pm.

I know this is a men’s site but I have to give a big congratulations to our friends Tarina Tarantino and Alfonso for their launch of Tarina’s new cosmetic line in partnership with Sephora. Alfonso has supported The Generic Man from day one and has over 20 pairs of our shoes in his closet so I have to show a little love over to them. Plus Tarina gets her famous pink hair done at my wife’s Steam Salon. Congrats Tarina!!!
