Lands’ End and Pendleton Mills
Lands’ End….you know, your parents favorite mail order catalog company with the misplaced apostrophe? I just noticed they contract out some of their blankets to Pendelton Mills. This one caught my eye and it’s washable.
Other woolen mills to check out:
Bemidji Woolen Mill “Warming the world Since 1920.” The 4th generation of Batchelder’s just took over.
Faribault Mills One of the few remaining “Fully Vertical” woolen mills in this country. Check out their vintage military blankets.
Hudson Bay Made in England since 1668. Arguably the finest wool blankets made. Woolrich is their key US distributor.
Pendleton Mills You know the shirts, get to know the blankets. Family owned and operated in the US for more than 140 years.
Swans Island – 1996 Smithsonian Blue Ribbon for Craft winner. Swans Island is now located in Northport Maine where they weave their blankets and wears in a 1780’s farm house.
