Coming soon 2010…

10 February 2010, 23.39 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Its been awhile since I posted. Not really sure why. Whatever the case, its a new year and one of my resolutions is to start posting more… So here I go…

Just got back not too long ago from a 10 day work trip that included the SIHH tradeshow in Geneva, then Paris Fashion Week, and then the Maison & Oject Show. Got to see what the future holds for the world of watches, fashion, and home/design. And I must admit, the future looks bright in these worlds. Here are a few things that stood out to me…

Baselworld 2009…

06 April 2009, 20.05 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

One of the best parts of my job is that I get to see everything a season ahead. For the past three months I have been traveling non stop to see what is coming out for Fall/Winter 09/10. Most recently, I attended Baselworld to check out all the latest and greatest from the watch world. Here are just a few of the beautiful watches coming out in 2009 in no particular order…

BlackBerry Curve 8900…

03 February 2009, 19.57 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

I am lucky enough to be testing the soon to be released BlackBerry Curve 8900 aka The Javelin. I have always preferred the Blackberry to the iPhone because of the keypad. Although the iPhone is dope and one can’t argue about the features, I just prefer a physical keypad. So since my current Curve is near death and seems to periodically delete all my emails, I was happy when Harrison & Shriftman offered to let me test out one of the new Curves.

I have only had it for a few days, but I must say – this BlackBerry is BUSINESS! So far I am really impressed with the updated screen quality and new browser. Both are infinitely better than the old Curve. Also, obviously, the new look of the device is rather attractive as well. Here is a peek at the one I am using…

More thoughts after I use it for a few more days! Thank you so much to Amanda at H&S!

Much Appreciated…

Recently, two bloggers showed me some love by posting about yours truly on their blogs.

First, my man Sky Gellatly was nice enough to write a few nice things about me and my story with Contributing Editor. I have known Sky for awhile now and he is always got a few things on his plate, even working with us at Details for a bit. He is what I like to call strategically unemployed. Along with managing Neil Armstrong (Jay Z’s official tour DJ), 13th Witness, Sky is also the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Flight Club and works with Epiphany consulting in NY. Like I said, “Strategically Unemployed”.

Next, I was flattered to have my picture taken by Garance Dore for her website after the Lanvin show. I am not entirely familiar with Garance or her site but she was incredibly nice when Scott Schuman introduced her to me. I went on her site and it is beautifully done. Her pictures are great and her comments are witty and charming. A great site to check out for an European persepective on fashion.

Thank you and much respect to Sky and Garance. Also, thanks for the new profile picture, Garance.

The Complete Studio… Taipei, Taiwan

16 January 2009, 16.31 | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 comments »

I usually spent my holidays in Taipei, Taiwan, where all my family and some great friends live. Having lived there for a few years, its always great for me to be back.

While there this time, I finally had the opportunity to check out The Complete Studio, which is the only store in Taiwan that carries all the latest from the giants of Japanese streetwear. The store was opened by Taiwan’s R.PM Network and Japan’s CLS/Cycle. When I was there I saw the newest collections from Uniform Experiment, Visvim, Sophnet, CLS/Cycle, (W)taps, and Neighborhood as well as some other great Japanese brands. The store itself is beautiful and the staff are all very knowledgeable as well as incredibly nice. Definitely worth checking out next time you find yourself in Taipei.

A few weeks ago, I did a story with the super talented photographer Thomas Whiteside for Contributing Editor. CE is a new fashion webzine that my former boss, Matthew Edelstein, started. Click on the image below to view the entire story.

Thank you for the opportunity, Matthew!

Nike Bespoke… Part 1…

18 November 2008, 22.03 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

This past weekend Nike invited me to the 21 Mercer store to try out the new Nike Sportswear Bespoke program. The experience was the ultimate in customization.

I was given the AF1 as my blank canvas, shown a ton of materials for both the inside and outside of the shoe, and then, basically, let loose to dream up whatever I wanted. I must admit I was overwhelmed by all the possible combinations since the amount of different leathers and colors seemed endless. After some thought and help from my two design consultants, I decided on a combination of blue suede, grey suede, white 3M reflective material, and the classic safari print. The mock up looked dope so I can’t wait to see the final product when I get them in 3-4 weeks.

Thank you so much, Demetria!

Hello. A good portion of my day can be spent on the internet. I always read Selectism because it has great point of view. I am honored to be a part of it. Thank you, Jeff.
