A Treasure of Military Images

Everyday the U.S. government releases thousands of images from all services via the website Defense Imagery.mil. As far as time wasters go, this is pretty high on my list. The photographs that are coming out of Afghanistan (in the image page search “Afghanistan”) are particularly interesting. Gawker even wrote about them not too long ago. Everything can be downloaded in hi-res to get a super close up view. I really like the military archive of beautiful images like the ones pictured below.
