Days of Sicily
Sicily is recurring often these days in our office and in my life:
1. On the next issue of PIG Mag (out the first days of March) we will have a beautiful fashion feature shot in Palermo (which is Sicily’s capital) by a Sicilian photographer called Yara De Nicola and our fashion editor Fabiana, who is also Sicilian. The picture above is a preview from that very shoot and features Sara, a beautiful Sicilian girl.
2. Depolique took us kids to see the concert of a new Italian band from Palermo called “Il Pan Del Diavolo” which means “The Bread of the Devil”. They are also out with their first album called “Sono all’osso” which is very nice.
3. Also on the April issue of PIG a very nice mens fashion editorial shot in Sicily by our Sean Michael Beolchini.
4. Rebecca (who works at Super – and isn’t from sicily :) recently wrote this post about the SS10 women’s catwalk by Dolce & Gabbana (who are Sicilian) and loved their new looks.
5. And to finish off the post, curiously this month I’m also tasting alot of wines from sicily. Sicily is relatively new to wine making in our country, but they are already the biggest region for quantity of land used for it. And I love them! So below I’ll suggest you a series of “Nero D’Avola” wines which is the most famous sicilian grape, exported worldwide. Some of the classic ones you can buy. I haven’t tasted them all yet but their names preceed me. I leave the judging to you :)
