Last two weeks
Below are three pictures from a party I have been with Sean, Piotr, Stefania and some other friends. It was an illegal under-the-motorway party, beneath a big bridge. It reminded me of the first acid house parties I used to go in the late 80’s (yes I’m that old!)… On the topic, check out an amazing photography book I just bought called Raving 89 by Neville & Gavin Watson. You can find it at djhistory.com/books/raving. The party I went to wasn’t a rave party but a good old hip hop get-together. Ended soon though, stereo broke twice…
Involved in the organization of this party were some of our friends from VNGRD brand. Giorgio Di Salvo the brand founder and director also launched his new project a couple of days ago. It’s called Blacknuss and its also a get-together, but this time on print, in the form of a limited edition magazine. The topic this time isn’t music but illustrators: “Blacknuss is an independent editorial project by Giorgio Di Salvo which aims at bringing together a limited but well-chosen number of artists who are drawn to the book’s unifying theme: darkness”. More info on the official website: http://www.blacknussmag.com/ a photo of my copy below. No pictures of the opening party, forgot my camera at home. But anyways, check out the project, it’s really emotional.
On the other side of the city, some days earlier fashion week was at it’s peak and I’ve been wondering around a bit. Below is an example of how much fun I had…
In the picture (taken from the Trussardi store cocktail) next to is me Piotr, our polish guy. He takes care of all the music production in PIG Mag and Radio, and is becoming a really good photographer: check out his tumblr page: http://piotrniepsuj.tumblr.com/.

Getting back to some of our country’s other traditions though, a couple weeks ago I’ve been to Vittorio Veneto to speak at a conference. The topic was independent magazine publishing. Unfortunately it was held outside in a town square, and rain killed it nearly immediately. So we ended up in a typical restaurant eating pork chops and potatoes, drinking amazing wine and grappa. Pictures below.
“In vino veritas, in grappa felicitas”
The hotel was amazing also, located inside a vineyard. The owner told me that actually the vineyard is their main business.
Thanks to Davies and Marco Velardi, of Apartamento Magazine for inviting me.
And speaking of Apartamento magazine, they will be doing a special event in Tokyo at the end of this month, they will be cooking special dishes for special people, in a special location for 5 days. Yesterday was the first general rehersal day where Leen, the cook, with help from friends prepared some very nice dishes. I love these things, love good food and good wine. I brought a bottle of Terlano Sauvignon Quartz, a very good and not so expensive Sauvignon Blanc from the region of Alto Adige: http://www.cantina-terlano.com Ended up drinking wine all day, as usual in these occasions.
That’s it for now, I’ll try to post more often and less long posts in the future. Meanwhile I leave you with an album suggestion for the days to come. The band is called The xx. They’re from London, they’re in their 20’s, and as Giacomo writes in his review they pretty much sum up 20 years of british music. Do check them out. I’ll also anticipate that they will be on the cover of the november issue of PIG Mag. http://thexx.info/
Bye!
